In a significant stride towards enhancing patient care and convenience, Orchard Hospital proudly unveils its latest addition – the state-of-the-art Outpatient Center. The culmination of meticulous planning and dedication, this center promises a transformative experience for individuals seeking streamlined medical services in the Gridley community and beyond. The Gridley Herald was there to document the occasion.
GRIDLEY, CA (MPG) - Orchard Hospital joined with Butte County, City of Gridley officials, and members of the Gridley Area Chamber of Commerce to officially announce the opening of their new Outpatient Center.
Kami Dunstch, Chief Operating Officer for Orchard Hospital says that the new center will provide streamlined services to patients in a comfortable setting, separate from the emergency room environment. These services include lab work, radiology testing such as X-ray, CT scans, MRI ultrasound echocardiograms, cardiopulmonary services such as EKGs or pulmonary function testing (PFT’s) and more.
According to Dunstch, the Orchard Hospital Outpatient Center has been in the works since the beginning of 2023, made possible by funds donated from the Orchard Hospital Foundation. The focus of the Foundation’s Annual Appeal fundraiser was the Outpatient Facility and has been made a reality thanks to their hard work.
Of the center and its benefit to patients in the community, Duntsch says, “I think it’s an amazing asset,” sharing that it’s a more modern and comfortable environment for patients. She continues to say that due to wait time and uncomfortable facilities, patients can tend to put off or fail to complete their diagnostic testing. The goal of the Orchard Hospital Outpatient Center is to make those processes easier and more relaxing for ultimate patient care. “It’s a much better patient experience,” says Duntsch.
The Benefits of an Outpatient Facility
Unlike the conventional hospital setting that often requires extended stays, an outpatient center, also known as an outpatient facility or clinic, is a medical facility where patients receive medical care and treatment without the need for an overnight stay or admission to a hospital. Outpatient centers are designed to provide a wide range of medical services, procedures, and treatments on an outpatient basis, meaning that patients visit the facility for their scheduled appointments and return home on the same day.
These centers offer various medical services, such as consultations, diagnostics, tests, minor surgeries, therapies, and follow-up care. Patients who visit outpatient centers typically do not require an extended period of monitoring or recovery and do not need to occupy a hospital bed overnight.
Outpatient centers are characterized by their convenience and accessibility, as they allow patients to receive specialized medical care without the need for a full hospital admission. This can include services like imaging (X-rays, MRIs), laboratory tests, outpatient surgeries, rehabilitation, and various medical procedures.
Overall, outpatient centers play a crucial role in modern healthcare by providing efficient and effective medical care while minimizing the disruption to a patient's daily life and routine.
